Article 1

The Lord our God is only one God, who exists in Himself. His essence cannot be comprehended by anyone but Himself. He alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light. He is most holy and infinite in greatness, wisdom, power, and love; merciful and gracious, patient, and abundant in goodness and truth. He gives existence, movement, and preservation to all creatures.¹
