Article 31

Throughout this life believers continually struggle against sin, self, the world, and the devil. They are liable to afflictions, tribulations, and persecutions, to which they have been appointed. Everything spiritual that the saints receive or enjoy from God is received by faith. Outward and temporal possessions, however, may lawfully be enjoyed by civil right even by those who do not have faith.¹
